Regional Medicare restrictions on physician-administered IV Orencia (abatacept) threaten continuity of care and strip patients of vital treatment pathways. With Part D shifts already curtailing subcutaneous access, restricting Part B IV Orencia leaves our most vulnerable patients without access to abatacept in any form. Luckily, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) can reverse this harmful policy.

Decisions on route of administration belong in the hands of treating physicians and their patients—not administrative red tape. Forcing stable patients off effective therapy risks severe flares, joint damage, and unnecessary hospitalizations.
