The ACR is pleased to announce the creation of the Community Practice Council (CPC). The CPC is a new body that will consist of 12 to 15 rheumatologists and rheumatology professionals in small or independent practice from around the country. It will focus exclusively on issues facing small practice settings and will work with other committees across the ACR to ensure that the voice of independent rheumatologists is represented in the work and offerings of the ACR.
The CPC will also include two slots for fellows who are interested in independent practice. The hope is that these fellows will help provide insight into the barriers newly minted rheumatologists might face in pursing independent practice. This will also provide the selected fellows with the opportunity to learn more about running an independent practice from those with experience.
The CPC will have quarterly meetings (with in-person and remote options available) to bring issues to ACR committees and provide invaluable consultation and feedback to address issues and concerns that are specifically important to independent practitioners.
Interested candidates should apply no later than January 30th, 2023. Must be an ACR/ARP member.
